WORLD ALERT for H5N6 Avian Flu Outbreak in PHILIPPINES

While the countries of the world face the threat of the coronavirus, the Secretary of Agriculture of the Philippines, William Dar, announced that H5N6 avian influenza reappeared in the Asian country after a similar strain affected some sheds in Jaén, Nueva Ecija

The tests were carried out last Friday, March 13, on a group of live quails, after 1,500 of a total of 15,000 of these birds died suspiciously on March 9.

According to the Philippine Secretary of Agriculture, once the detection was carried out, a protocol was implemented to control and contain the spread of the highly pathogenic disease that can infect humans, for which 12 thousand quails were slaughtered and buried in the past Saturday, March 14.
