In its latest update for Android and iOS, the WhatsApp instant messaging application has introduced a new feature that has gone unnoticed by the vast majority of its users, reports the portal specialized in GSMArena technology.
The new feature allows users to share their WhatsApp status on Facebook Story and other applications, a publication that lasts 24 hours. To do this, we just have to go to the section “My status” and press the button “Share in the history of Facebook” or the symbol of sharing, if we want to send it to another social network.
In case we have published several status updates, they will all be shared in the medium we choose, although we have the option to select only some of them. Also, GSMArena details that the WhatsApp states that we share to other applications will not be protected with end-to-end encryption.
Although WhatsApp has not yet made any official announcement about the launch, several users went to Twitter to report the arrival of this feature that, at the moment, seems to be only available in some countries. However, the company belonging to Facebook has created a section on its FAQ page in which it explains the steps to follow to use the new tool.
The launch seems to be part of the plan of Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and CEO of Facebook, to create a unified application that combines WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram to allow more than 2.6 billion users to communicate with each other by 2020.
